Biography

I was born in Rivoli, Torino on April 14th, 1979. I obtained my PhD from the Politecnico di Torino in March 2007, after which I started as a research assistant at the Department of Control and Computer Engineering of the same university. My PhD thesis entitled "Electronic System Design Techniques for Safety Critical Applications". My PhD thesis has been awarded by the EDAA as Outstanding Dissertation in 2007. My research is in the areas of Computer Architecture and VLSI design. Currently, I am mainly interested in Computer-Aided Design algorithms that map circuits on Reconfigurable Architecture for Safety-Critical Applications.

My research interests include:

- Reconfigurable Computing
- Computer-Aided Design Algorithms
- Fault Tolerance Architecture
- Radiation Effects on Component and Systems

Research activities

My research activities are focused on the design and automation of electronic systems. Six are the fields in which I have obtained results of particular relevance and I am currently working on:

- Design of Electronic Systems based on Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs) devices
- Modeling and analysis of radiation-induced effects on electronic systems
- Synthesis, mapping and place and route of digital systems
- Testing and mitigation of digital systems

- Verification and validation of digital systems

- Analysis and clustering of biomedical images and data
